Our Club is dedicated to encouraging participation in the sport of Trapshooting.  Our experienced instructors provide instruction for every skill level.  Whether you have never fired a shotgun or are an experienced shooter, we’re ready to work with you.

Trap Lessons: Details

  • For new shooters: We start with fundamental safe gun handling and build your skill as you break your first clay target.
  • For experienced shooters: Returning participants find instruction beneficial to sharpen their skills or enter competitive shooting events.
  • Lesson Format & Content:
    Each lesson begins with classroom instruction covering safety, shotgun basics, trap etiquette, and club rules.
    You’ll then shoot two supervised rounds of trap (16-yard singles) with an instructor, offering tips and guidance, shot by shot.
  • Class Size & Schedule:
    Maximum 5 students per lesson.
    Lessons are offered monthly on select Saturdays.
    Lessons begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude by 12:00 p.m.  Please arrive by 8:45 a.m. to check in.
  • Equipment:
    We provide 50 clay targets, 2 boxes of 12-gauge ammunition, foam ear plugs, and shell pouches.
    A Browning BT-99 shotgun is available if you don’t have your own.
    Please bring your own eye protection (regular eyeglasses are acceptable).
    You’re welcome to bring your own shotgun if it’s suitable for sporting use (barrel ≥ 28″, with a bead sight).

Payment & Registration

  • The full $150 lesson fee is due at registration.
  • The fee includes instruction, range use, and equipment.
  • All registrations are final and non-refundable.
  • Reschedules are subject to a $50 fee.
  • Weather-related cancellations (at the club’s discretion) are rescheduled at no charge.

    Tuesday 3pm – 7pm
